Alice Springs

Alice Springs is a town of around 28000 population in the centre of Australia.  It is a remote services town, providing health and other services to around 250 communities.  Tourism and Aboriginal Art are our main economic drivers aside from service delivery.  We are uniquely situated at the interface between Aboriginal traditional bush culture and urban culture and everything in between – I love being in the middle of some of the most important political debates our country faces today – watching people of all persuasions discuss and ponder our future as a nation made up of many diverse cultures.  My children have benefitted from the cultural education which can only come from living with people straddling the bush and urban life.
