It was pretty sad to watch how scared the animals were but I wanted to look at what we do as meat eaters. We are prepared to buy packets of meat from a supermarket, but are we prepared to look at the whole process? The market was packed, there were carcasses hanging and offal/heads etc left on the ground. Craftsmen were there making items from leather like harnesses and bridles. There were hand knotted ropes and bridles of all sizes and shapes. It’s sad chaotic and brutal but it is also an honest way of life. Many people were bringing in 5 sheep or one cow etc to sell. I suppose they bring in small numbers of stock to sell regularly. Some people buy skinny cows to take home and fatten up, then bring them back to sell a month later.
